Campfire Baked Potatoes
Ever have a craving for a baked potato with your meal while camping? You can easily cook potatoes right in your campfire by wrapping them twice in aluminum foil and burying them in a good bed of campfire coals for 30 to 45 minutes. Just make sure to have a utensil handy to retrieve them from the fire safely. Fireplace tongs make a good tool to dig them out from the coals.
Easy Fire Starters
Here's a few suggestions to easily get your campfire started. 1. Pour some clear lamp oil onto your firewood and let soak in for three to five minutes. Be sure not to let the oil soak in too long so that it will still light for you. Citronella oil can be used, but we recommend the clear lamp oil instead. 2. Save your empty bathroom tissue rolls and stuff them with rolled up newspaper. Rolled up newspaper kindles nicely as it would in a wood burning fireplace. This will light easily and help get your fire started. 3. Save your dryer lint and use it to get your campfire started. Be sure to use caution with this method as your dryer lint can be very flammable.
